The phenomenon first began on November 8, 2005 as RedOctane (a subsidary of Activision) first released Guitar Hero. The developer of the music video game was Harmonix, however, Neversoft of Activision baught the MTV subsidary for $100 million and took over in 2007. Guitar Hero is a very similar game to the GuitarFreaks. GuitarFreaks was released in 1998 for the Arcade, PlayStation and PlayStation 2. The game was produced by Konami, a leading developer and publisher. The game has develped since then and is now on the 16th version, called GuitarFreaks V5 released in the month of June 2008. Guitar Hero, very similar, but became a cultural phenomenon, since it's first release, over 23 millions units have been sold!
